SX Street Performance

2001-2002

SX Street Performance is a street-based performance project developed with Magnetic Laboratorium under the artistic direction of Marisela La Grave. Conceived as a choreographed intervention in public space, the work inserts theatrical actions into the everyday rhythm of the city—creating a porous stage where passersby, noise, traffic, and chance encounters become part of the composition. Rather than separating performer and spectator, the piece treats the street itself as an active partner: a living scenography that continuously rewrites what can happen.

Presented as both a live event and a video work, SX Street explores how bodies navigate exposure, intimacy, disruption, and collective attention in shared urban space. Its structure is collage-like and non-linear, built from fragments that appear and dissolve, moments of spectacle, humor, tension, and unexpected tenderness, so that what remains is not a single narrative, but a vivid trace of a temporary community formed in motion.
